Cerritos, CA, December 12, 2003 --
Corelis Inc., today unveiled a new high performance
Boundary‑Scan Controller board for the industry standard PCMCIA
32-bit CardBus interface implemented with an advanced memory
behind the pin architecture. Additional individually
programmable parallel I/Os are provided to test or control
non-boundary-scan areas of the unit under test. The
PCMCIA-1149.1/E allows a lap-top computer to be used for
boundary-scan testing in various phases of a product life cycle
such as design, manufacturing, and field service.
The Corelis PCMCIA-1149.1/E is an
intelligent Boundary-Scan controller that can be used in the
testing of devices, boards, or systems, compliant with IEEE Std
1149.1. The controller offers excellent performance due to its
large array of performance-enhancing innovations that increase
test vector throughput. Boundary-Scan test vectors developed
with Corelis' ScanPlusTPG Test Program Generator can be executed
directly on the PCMCIA-1149.1/E. A software Scan Function
Library (SFL) written in C is supplied with the tester card to
allow the end user to create powerful custom test programs using
high-level programming languages.
With the proliferation of the
boundary-scan test standard in electronics manufacturing, users
are expanding the use of the boundary-scan test logic beyond the
scope of just interconnect testing. These new uses include JTAG
emulation and source-level debugging of microprocessors,
in-circuit programming of CPLDs, functional device testing of
ASIC's using the INTEST and BIST scan capabilities, and
functional testing of non-scannable cluster logic on the unit
under test. These forms of scan based testing usually require
large test vector sets and tend to increase test execution
times. The new Corelis PCMCIA-1149.1/E controller is ideally
suited for such applications due to its intelligent TAP
controller, programmable interface-voltage capabilities,
on-board memory, and high sustained TCK clock speed.
"With this new controller design,
we are able to support unlimited scan chain lengths and TCK
speeds of up to 40 MHz, thus greatly reducing test times" said
Jim Rodgers, Technical Marketing Manager at Corelis Inc. "By
having a common test platform for design, manufacturing, and
field service, our customers will realize tremendous costs
savings. This new controller is an important addition to our
existing line of boundary-scan controllers as we can offer our
customers a wide selection of tester platforms, speeds and
prices".
The PCMCIA-1149.1/E boundary-scan
controller requires a single CardBus Type II PC Card slot, and
comes bundled with installation software that will automatically
install and configure the card for use on any Windows based
laptop or PC. The PCMCIA-1149.1/E also includes self-test
diagnostics routines, Scan Function Library (SFL), and a user
manual. US list price for single quantities is $2,950 and
availability is from stock.
Boundary-Scan is an embedded IC
technology for in-system programming and testing of digital
circuit boards and components that have been standardized as
IEEE Std 1149.1. Corelis’ ScanPlus Boundary-Scan tools include
hardware and software products offering exceptional ease-of-use
combined with advanced technical innovation.
Corelis Inc., offers a broad line
of boundary-scan software and hardware products for interconnect
testing, in-system programming of Flash memories, CPLDs, FPGAs,
JTAG emulation and debugging. It includes a full range of IEEE
Std 1149.1 boundary-scan testers for the ISA, PCI, PCMCIA, LAN,
USB, cPCI/PXI and VXI busses. Corelis also provides various
engineering services and is well known for its outstanding
customer support.
