Cerritos, California, June 22,
1998 -- Corelis Inc., today introduced ScanPlus Debugger a
low cost PC based software and hardware package that allows a
user to quickly find opens and shorts on and between BGA devices
and fine-pitch components that are JTAG compatible. The new
ScanPlus Debugger provides interactive control and observation
of all boundary-scan controllable inputs and outputs from a
Windows 95/NT user interface.
ScanPlus Debugger includes a fully
featured "pin browser" that provides a user with a powerful time
saving means of viewing and selecting pins and/or groups of pins
based on a device's functionality. Data entry and display can be
accommodated in binary, decimal, or hexadecimal formats and
debug sessions can be created and saved for later use. Device
and pins filtering combined with sorting, makes selection of
pins, nets, and groups a snap. The ScanPlus Debugger can also
apply data to inputs of clusters and read their responses if the
clusters pins are accessible via boundary-scan components.
"The ScanPlus Debugger provides a
simple, low-cost boundary-scan interactive debug tool that our
customers have been asking for." said Menachem Blasberg,
president of Corelis, Inc. "This product is an invaluable tool
for engineers doing hardware debug during prototype design
verification and testing of boards that include JTAG compatible
BGA devices and other fine-pitch components."
The ScanPlus Debugger includes
facilities to ensure the safety of the board circuitry during
boundary-scan debugging. A safety menu selects how unspecified
pins are treated during the debug session. Before performing an
update of the outputs, the debugger performs a netlist based
conflict check. This process consists of checking for output
value conflicts on all boundary-scan compatible pins on each net
that has outputs being set.
Corelis provides a wide variety of
boundary-scan controller options for the ScanPlus Debugger
including PC-ISA bus, a PCMCIA card for portable applications,
and an Ethernet network controller for LAN-based applications.
The product ships with a
comprehensive user’s guide with tutorials, which can quickly
train a new user in several hours. A JTAG test demo board is
also available from Corelis to facilitate training and
demonstration of ScanPlus Debugger's capabilities.
Corelis is a world leader in the
field of boundary-scan JTAG testing, microprocessor development
tools, and VXIbus test instruments. Corelis also provides
various engineering services and is well known for its
outstanding customer support.
