Corelis Approved for Use in Versatile Depot Automatic Test Station
Corelis JTAG Test System Assists in Air Force Readiness.
Cerritos, CA, May 27, 2014 – Corelis, Inc., the leading supplier of high-performance boundary-scan test and measurement tools, announced today that its ScanExpress family of products has been selected by the U.S. Air Force as an attachable component in the Versatile Depot Automatic Test Station (VDATS) program to meet current JTAG requirements. VDATS is an enterprise test solution employed by the air force and Department of Defense which provides Air Force customers with a common core Automatic Test System (ATS) test and repair solution that is flexible to accommodate future and expanding customer requirements.
The VDATS program is designed to replace specialized test equipment that has become both difficult and expensive to maintain. It also aims to improve test efficiency, reduce the logistic footprint, and reduce the overall cost of ATS infrastructure. VDATS is completely modular and reconfigurable to support multiple aircraft and weapons systems.
Once a failed component is sent to the depot for repair, VDATS provides diagnostic capability to isolate and repair component malfunctions. It also allows technicians to verify serviceability and return a component to air force supply to keep mission equipment operating. The Corelis ScanExpress software and JTAG hardware connect the VDATS platform to JTAG interfaces on supported systems for non-intrusive electrical test and debug.
“Corelis is pleased to be selected as an approved technology provider in the VDATS program alongside other major providers such as Lockheed Martin, AAI Textron, Boeing, and Teradyne,” states Ryan Jones, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelis. “It demonstrates significant credibility and trust in our brand of test equipment products.”
