Corelis Inc., Unveils a High-Performance Parallel Port Boundary-Scan (JTAG) Test Controller Board
New Parallel Port JTAG Controller provides boundary-scan
testing for field service and portable applications.
Cerritos, CA, February 10, 2002 — Corelis Inc., today unveiled a new high performance intelligent boundary-scan controller board, PIO-1149.1/E, that connects to a user’s PC via the standard parallel port.
The Corelis PIO-1149.1/E is an intelligent test controller that can be used in the testing of devices, boards, or systems, compliant with IEEE Std 1149.1. It connects to the PC via the standard parallel port that allows quick and convenient installation on any PC without opening the PC. The controller offers excellent performance due to included performance-enhancing innovations that increase test vector throughput. The test clock (TCK) is user programmable with speeds up to 25 MHz. The JTAG ports and discrete I/O voltage levels are programmable from 1.25 to 3.4V and are 5V compatible. The PIO-1149.1/E supports two independent boundary-scan chains.
The PIO-1149.1/E allows a laptop computer to be used for boundary-scan testing in various phases of a product life cycle such as design, manufacturing, and field service. Boundary-Scan test vectors developed with Corelis’ ScanPlusTPG Test Program Generator can be executed directly on the PIO-1149.1/E controller.

The PIO-1149.1/E controller ships with built-in self-test software and Plug and Play Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP Scan Function Library and device drivers. The PIO-1149.1/E is also compliant with the IEEE-1284 specification, which requires a parallel port with ECP capability.
